Standards by department - Maintains separate standards for each department (area).  Common standards covering multiple departments also are maintained.

State and National Standards - Supports both well known state and national standards as well as department based program goals or standards. 

Standards directly tied to assignments and artifacts - Standards are directly associated with teacher assignments and student artifacts.

Multiple standards tied to an assignment or artifact - An unlimited number of standards may be associated with a single assignment and artifact.
